2-day film screening event held at Karachi University

Two-day film screening event commenced at Department of Visual Studies Karachi University where students of Filmmaking (Film Media) presented their final year projects. Student Hamad Hashmi's film 'Chhalawa' and Kamil Ali Rizvi's 'Sarkari Banjh' were declared first, Hamza Zaidi's 'Andolan' second and Syed Muhammad Ali's film 'Sonia' third.

Film jury included Associate Professor Yaqui Smith from University of Texas and Pakistan's leading film duo Nabil Qureshi and Fiza Ali. Film Media Coordinator Ali Abbas Naqvi said that despite limited resources, students have utilised their creativity to fullest, teachers have personally helped students for films made under their guidance.

He said that these young filmmakers will play their positive role to further strengthen fast-growing Pakistani film industry. Number of people attended event and appreciated efforts of young filmmakers.
