2nd Pakistan International Date Palm Festival opens at Karachi Expo Center

KARACHI: The 2nd Pakistan International Date Palm Festival commenced yesterday at the Expo Center, Karachi, marking the beginning of a three-day celebration of Pakistan’s growing date palm industry. The festival will continue on September 17 and 18, 2025, bringing together industry leaders, farmers, researchers, and international delegates to promote date cultivation, trade, and innovation.

The Ribbon-cutting ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including H.E. Dr. Abdelouahhab Alboukhari Zaid, Secretary General of the Khalifa International Award, H.E. Dr. Helal Humaid Saeed Al Kaabi, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Award H.E. Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates, and Mr. Saeed Ghani, Senior Minister of Sindh who was the Chief Guest. 

The event highlights the significance of dates as one of Pakistan’s key agricultural products and aims to create new opportunities for farmers, investors, and exporters. With Pakistan being among the top date-producing countries in the world, the festival serves as a vital platform to showcase the latest technologies, best practices in cultivation, and to strengthen international collaborations.

Speaking at the opening, the dignitaries emphasized the importance of modernizing date cultivation, enhancing export competitiveness, and creating value-added products to meet international market demands. The festival also features exhibitions, technical sessions, B2B networking opportunities, and cultural showcases.

The Pakistan International Date Palm Festival stands as a symbol of collaboration between Pakistan and international partners, particularly the UAE, in advancing agricultural sustainability and innovation.

The festival will continue until September 18, 2025, at the Expo Center Karachi.
