635 teams participating in robust drive to inoculate 5-11 year old children: DC Taha

KARACHI: Deputy Commissioner and Administrator of District Central Taha Salim said that 5-11 year old children should be vaccinated with Covid vaccine. He said that 635 vaccination teams of Health Department in district are visiting every school to administer corona vaccine to around 376,702 children aged 5-11 years.

He asked school administrations to ensure every child should get vaccine. Health Department of Sindh government started drive from September 19. Additional Deputy Commissioner I District Central Waseemuddin, District Health Officer Muzaffar Odhu, World Health Organization District Polio Officer Dr. Farhajuddin DSF, Fazal Akbar and other officials were present.  

Dr. Muzaffar Odhu said that campaign of corona vaccine was done in past days, which has seen significant decrease in corona cases and now there is an increase of corona cases in children. Taking into account and to secure health corona vaccine campaign is being initiated.

In first phase, campaign is being carried out in all seven districts of Karachi including Hyderabad, where 2.4 million children will be vaccinated against corona free of cost. Taha instructed representatives of law enforcement agencies to cooperate with corona vaccination teams.
