KARACHI: On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Central, Mr. Taha Saleem, Assistant Commissioner Dr. Saira Khan supervised continuous drainage work during the recent rains in Liaquatabad.

As Acting Assistant Commissioner Liaquatabad and Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dr. Saira Khan visited several main roads along with the rain emergency staff. The areas inspected included Gharibabad, Teen Hatti, Dak Khana, Super Market, and different relief camps. She reviewed the arrangements and expressed satisfaction with the performance of the teams.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Saira Khan said that due to a poor drainage system, sewage often mixes with drinking water, which can cause dangerous diseases. Quick disposal of rainwater is essential to protect citizens and ensure smooth movement for people going to offices and markets. She added that the administration has also carried out cleaning of storm-water drains at critical points where waterlogging was reported.
