Awareness seminar held in Karachi on Right to Self-Determination Day for Kashmir

KARACHI: An awareness seminar was organized in Karachi on the occasion of Right to Self-Determination Day by the Youth Forum for Kashmir – Karachi Regional Office (YFK-KRO). Political, social, religious and media personalities attended the event and expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
The program started with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Mufti Salamat, followed by the national anthem. Representatives of Youth Forum for Kashmir highlighted the aims of the organization and its efforts to create awareness among the youth about the Kashmir issue. The chief guest of the event was Ahmed Saleem Siddiqui, MNA, who said that the right to self-determination is a recognized principle of the United Nations and that the Kashmir issue is not only a national issue of Pakistan but also an important international human rights issue. He stressed the key role of youth and media in raising awareness.
Other speakers included Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam, Rafi Ahmed, Syed Pervaiz Aslam, Advocate Ehsan Altaf, Mufti Fida Elahi Abbasi, Maulana Ibrahim Chitrali, Ijaz Fazal, Chaudhry Aurangzeb, Muhammad Efrahim and Khizra Aslam. The speakers said that Kashmir remains one of the oldest unresolved disputes in Asia and needs serious attention from the international community. They emphasized peaceful struggle, constitutional methods and awareness campaigns as effective ways to highlight the issue. At the end, Muhammad Arsalan thanked the participants, and the Youth Forum for Kashmir reaffirmed its commitment to continue working for youth awareness and national consciousness.
