Cases against Sh Rasheed: Court issues arrest warrants of IO

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued arrest warrants of Investigation Officer (IO) on petition seeking dismissal of cases registered in Karachi against Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed in case of using filthy and inappropriate language against Bilawal Bhutto. Court has sought assistance from Attorney General of Pakistan.

While hearing case, Justice Tariq Jahangir remarked how case of an incident can be registered in other provinces which has occurred in Islamabad.

Court issued bailable arrest warrants of Investigation Officer of case registered in Police Station Mochko at Karachi remarking why investigation officer has not appeared despite being summoned. IG Sindh will get comply with warrants.

Court inquired from state counsel tell us what filthy and unethical word has been used by petitioner. State counsel said IO may have investigated.

Court remarked how was case of incident related to Islamabad registered in Mochko Police Station. Counsel said someone watched it on TV and got registered case.

Court inquired will you register case in Karachi whatever incident happens in Islamabad. Benazir Bhutto was martyred. When it came on social media then case was registered in Rawalpindi Liaqat Bagh and not in Karachi. If murder takes place here and it comes on social media then will case be registered in Karachi.

On other hand investigation officer in respect of case registered against Sheikh Rasheed in Lasbella appeared. He told court he searched plaintiff but he could not be found.

Court remarked on reply of Balochistan police officer what he has done of FIR. You were not stopped from conducting investigation. Court was told FIR will be dismissed.

Later court issued bailable arrest warrants of plaintiff Ali Asghar. Court directed that IG Balochistan should get comply warrants till next hearing. Balochistan police should file report before next hearing. Court adjourned hearing of case till second week of November.
