District Central's rain emergency operation in full swing

KARACHI: Following recent heavy rains, the District Central administration, led by Deputy Commissioner Taha Saleem, launched emergency rescue and drainage operations to protect citizens and reduce traffic pressure.
Assistant Commissioner Gulberg, Afshan Riki, visited affected areas with rescue teams and shifted trapped children, elderly people, and women from Block 22 Madina Colony to safer locations. She also inspected emergency camps set up at Sohrab Goth and Ayesha Manzil, expressing satisfaction with the arrangements.
In North Nazimabad, Assistant Commissioner Humair Ahmad supervised drainage work on major roads, confirming that machines were being used to clear accumulated water. Similarly, Assistant Commissioner Liaquatabad, Dr. Saira Khan, remained present on various streets to ensure drainage operations were completed under her supervision.
According to the Deputy Commissioner’s spokesperson, assistant commissioners and field staff remain fully active across the district. Deputy Commissioner Taha Saleem said the administration is on high alert to deal with the post-rain situation, stressing that the safety of citizens, especially children and families, remains the top priority.
