KARACHI: Karachi Police took custody of Hassan Khan Niazi, nephew of PTI Chairman Imran Khan after an Anti-Terrorism Court granted his two-day transit remand to Sindh Police.

District East Police took Niazi’s custody for interrogation in case lodged against him on complaint of citizen named Muhammad Iqbal in Jamshaid Quarters Police Station.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Hassaan Niazi and his accomplices have been booked in separate case in Karachi for inciting people to revolt against national institutions.

According to text of FIR, Hassan Niazi was involved in inciting people to revolt against national institutions and attempted to provoke disharmony in video on social media. Statement has created anger and distress among masses, FIR said.

Barrister Hassan was first arrested by Islamabad police from outside Judicial Complex, despite securing bail. Niazi was then moved to Quetta where case had been registered against him for inciting violence and interfering in government affairs. A local court in Balochistan granted him bail.
