KARACHI: The Land Utilization Department, Government of Sindh through its letter dated 07-03-2025 has informed Deputy Commissioner, District Malir, Karachi about details of verification/ and Genuineness of the lands allotted and cancelled/ withdrawn in Deh Shahi Chip District Malir, Karachi for 30 years period.
The Land Utilization Department, in a recent communication revealed that the land was originally leased to 23 different parties for a 30-year period, starting from 2012. These allotments were made for various purposes, including agriculture, dairy farming, poultry, and wahi chahi (partially irrigated land).
However, in 2015, these allotments were withdrawn or cancelled due to various irregularities, including the discovery of fraudulent and fabricated documents related to several of the land transactions. The letters issued to few of them were found fake and fabricated too.
The range of these lands were started from 4 acres to 16-acres 20, 26, 48, 100 and 148 acres, informed sources disclosed. The involvement of fake letters and documents has raised concerns over the authenticity of previous allotments, which may call for investigations ahead to identify the responsible parties.
This development underscores the government's commitment to transparency and accountability in land allotments and its ongoing efforts to address land management issues in the region.
