Man attempts suicide after poisoning wife, children over poverty

KARACHI: In shocking incident, man attempted suicide after poisoning his wife and children over poverty in city. According to rescue sources, man named Azhar attempted suicide after poisoning his wife and children in Sujrani Town Sector-10. After being informed, rescue teams reached spot and moved family to hospital, where two years old girl is said to be dead, while doctors are trying to save lives of other three members of family.

Neighbours said family was living in rented house and Azhar, who was working in factory had lost his job. He tried hard to find another job to continue livelihood of family, but after failing, he attempted suicide after poisoning his wife and children.

Similar incidents have occurred previously although motives behind them were different. In one such incident, man committed suicide after killing his wife and son over domestic dispute.
