KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan decided against attending all parties’ conference (APC), summoned by Pakistan Peoples’ Party on March 18 to discuss reservations over digital census.

Sources told MQM-P will not attend APC summoned to discuss reservations over digital census due to its ‘power show’, scheduled to take place on same day-March 18 at Karachi’s Bagh-e-Jinnah.

Sources further claimed that decision was taken in meeting of Rabta Committee. Meeting also reviewed preparations for rally on March 18. “Camps will be set up in every town and on important thoroughfares”, sources said quoting party leaders. Earlier on March 14, Pakistan Peoples’ Party summoned all parties conference on Friday to discuss reservations over digital census.

PPP will host all-parties conference at private hotel following reservations over digital census tabled by political parties. Party invited Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, Jamaat-e-Islami and nationalist organisations to conference. Conference will consider concerns of Sindh government on digital census, party said in statement.
