KARACHI: The residents of Lucknow Cooperative Housing Society have appealed the Chairman/ DG National Accountability Bureau for just action against corruption.

They said that members of this Society have long been victims of severe exploitation at the hands of Society Office-bearers imposed by influential bureaucracy with no hope of redressal. There was a compliance of orders passed in constitutional petition No. D-2260/2012, NAB Reference 6/2016 was filed and accordingly the conviction was acted upon only against 3+3 former office bearers of the administration, while more than ten other beneficiaries of the administration involved in this corruption were not included in the investigation, nor was any accountability taken from all these elements for the crores of rupees of the public.  Even more surprising was that in all this NAB action, the officers of Sindh Building Control Authority, who were the official custodians of the Society’s master plan and building control were completely ignored for their crores of rupees of corruption, and the same courtesy was extended to the officers of the Registrar Cooperative Department Sindh.

Even the entire NAB report of the inquiry officer Abdul Hadi dated 12-12-2013 and the NAB Reference compiled Rizwanullah dated 30-12-2015 were completely silent on the exploits of these holy personalities. More ridiculous was that on 09-09-2020 a petition was filed by NAB Prosecutor against Muhammad Jameel & others and prayed to increase the punishment of the convicted criminals, while in support of its position, this appeal did not cover the crimes of the accused from December 2013 to September 2020, the appellants added.
