Islamabad: Minister State on Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar ruled out possibility of any back-channel diplomacy with India when asked by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Senator whether Islamabad has changed its policy vis-a-vis New Delhi. While speaking during question hour session in Senate, Khar said that back channel diplomacy must take place if it is fruitful but “No backdoor diplomacy is currently taking place with India” as hostility coming in from New Delhi is of unique nature. Statement came in response to PTI Senator Faisal Javed Khan’s question about Pakistan’s decision regarding normalisation of ties with India until revocation of August 5 move.

She said that world asks Pakistan why doesn’t it walk on path of peace with India. She said that this was job of country’s political leadership. Ban on BBC documentary by Modi government has vindicated Pakistan’s viewpoint on Gujarat massacre, she added.

Khar stressed Pakistan’s keenness towards establishment of peace on both its eastern and western borders. She described opening of Kartarpur Corridor as positive precedent saying such processes must move forward. “Pakistan wouldn’t want bloodshed anywhere,” she said.
