Pakistan, Azerbaijan to boost cooperation in IT, telecom sector

ISLAMABAD: Delegation of Azerbaijan led by Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev called on Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque here.

 Federal Minister for IT welcomed delegation on arrival in Ministry and matters relating to digital transformation, software development and IT exports were discussed in detail. Secretary IT Navid Ahmed Shaikh was also present in meeting.

 Two sides agreed to enhance cooperation in IT and telecom sector. Talking to delegation, Minster said that Pakistan greatly values its relations with Azerbaijan. Pakistan wants to boost its ties with Azerbaijan in technology sector, he added.

 He said that Ministry of IT and Telecom committed to achieve Prime Minister's Digital Pakistan vision, adding that Ministry of IT working jointly with IT industry for digital transformation in country.

 Azerbaijan Minister Rashad Nabiyev emphasised need of forming joint working group between Pakistan and Azerbaijan for strengthening ties in IT and telecom sector.

 He said Azerbaijan wanted to work with Pakistan in field of software development. Earlier, member IT Syed Junaid Imam briefed delegation on digital Pakistan landscape. Meeting was attended by members Telecom Muhammad Omar Malik, International Coordination Ajmal Anwar Awan, Legal Babur Sohail and CEO Pakistan Software Export Board Ali Raza, CEO Ignite Asim Shahryar Husain and DG to Minister Aftab Rashid.
