Plea for preventing caretaker Punjab govt from working accepted for hearing

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued written order to accept for hearing plea seeking court’s order to prevent care taker Punjab government from working. It has been said in written order petition is admitted for hearing. Notice under 27-A has been issued to advocate general Punjab for assistance. Court has issued notices to federal government and Election Commission. Court remarked all respondents should file written reply till June 6. According to petitioner elections were to be held within 90 days of dissolution of assembly. Caretaker government is unconstitutional.

It is pertinent to mention here Sheikh Rasheed had filed petition through his counsel Azhar Siddique advocate. He had taken plea that 90 days tenure of caretaker government has been completed. Caretaker government cannot work further constitutionally.
