PM Kakar calls for enhancing job opportunities abroad for skilled workers

ISLAMABAD: Cabinet stressed need to work on war footing for provision of skills to country’s manpower according to requirements.

Professional education and vocational training programmes should be prepared at par needs of international market.

Chairing meeting of Cabinet here, Prime Minister said steps should be taken to increase employment opportunities of skilled people abroad. Cabinet approved service level amended agreement between National Vocational and Technical Training Commission and Saudi agency Takamol.

PM directed that all existing centers of technical education and vocational training should be activated. On recommendation of Ministry of Education and Professional Training, Cabinet also approved signing of Memorandum of Agreement between Area Studies Centre, University of Peshawar and Central Asia Research Centre of Corvinus University of Hungary. Cabinet also extended approval to name of Summit Bank Limited as Bank Mukarramah Limited on recommendation of Finance Ministry.

On recommendation of Interior Ministry, Cabinet approved agreement between governments of Pakistan and Ecuador, under which diplomatic, officials and special passport holders of both countries would be mutually exempted from visa.

Cabinet gave assent to decisions taken in meetings of Economic Coordination Committee on September 6, 2023.
