ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal said that political instability and discontinuation of policies were reasons behind failures country had been facing for last 75 years.

Speaking at ‘Launch and oath taking ceremony of Young Development Fellowship Programme”, he said that father of nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and his companions had materialised dream of independent Pakistan to prove to world that they had capacity to run free and sovereign country in accordance with their principles.

He lamented that adding one more under-developing country on world map was not purpose of Pakistan’s creation. Peace and stability were prerequisites to moving toward progress and prosperity of any country, he added. He highlighted importance of taking advantage of demographic dividend of country. He said that youth could prove an asset to country if provided proper environment and direction. However, they could prove demographic disaster if not molded in constructive way. He said that government’s top priority was to provide best opportunity to youth including training, education and experiences which could lead country on path of development.
