Provincial Ombudsman urged to intervene in Karimabad Ismailia Multipurpose Cooperation affairs

KARACHI: The Provincial Ombudsman, Sindh has been requested by the members of Karimabad Ismailia Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd to intervene in the scandalous affairs of Society under the maltreatment by the Registrar Cooperative Societies Sindh.
They said that on 21 April 2025, an application was submitted to the Registrar Cooperative Societies Sindh, requesting for the issuance of schedule for the new elections which were due under the Societies Act.
They urged for intervention regarding unnecessary delay in issuance of Election Notification for the Society Committee. The members said it is important to mention that the current Managing Committee of the Society has completed its two-year term on 7 May 2025. Despite this, no notification regarding the election schedule has been issued, nor has any date for the elections been announced.
“We therefore earnestly request your intervention in this matter. Kindly take notice of the situation and direct the Registrar Cooperative Societies Sindh to issue the election notification without further delay, in order to ensure proper democratic functioning within the society,” the members stated.
It may be mentioned here that the Office of Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Government of Sindh Karachi has been reportedly known as a center of corruption, mismanagement and unlawful activities prevailed with the general public.
