KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has disposed of a petition filed against alleged illegal constructions in the Karimabad Ismailia Multipurpose Cooperative Society. The court made it clear that construction can only be carried out according to the approved building plan and that any violation will not be tolerated.

Justice M. Iqbal Kalhoro and Justice S. Fiaz ul Hassan Shah, forming a two-member bench, heard the case on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
Construction is being carried out on buildings No. KA8 and K4 in violation of the approved plan. According to the plan, only a ground plus four floors were allowed, but the construction company, AH Constructors, is building a ground plus ten-floor structure. This claim was made by the petitioner, who is a resident of the society.
On the other hand, Karimabad Society’s secretary, Imran Arwan, appeared in court and rejected all the allegations. He said that the construction is being done completely according to the approved plan and there are no violations.
During the hearing, the lawyer representing the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) assured the court that if any irregularity or violation was found in the construction, action would be taken in accordance with the law.
The court observed that since all parties had given clear assurances and the SBCA had also guaranteed that it would monitor the construction, the petition had served its purpose.
The court, therefore, disposed of the petition after the parties gave their consent and assurances.
Mr. Faisal Usman, the lawyer for Respondent No. 6, told a reporter from the Daily National Courier that Respondent No. 6 is Karimabad Ismailia Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. According to the lawyer, the news has now been updated.
