ISLAMABAD: Minister of development and planning Ahsen Iqbal said uncertainty increased due to absence of International Monitory Fund (IMF) programme.

In his address on issuing report of World Bank’s human capital review research Ahsan Iqbal as chief guest said human resources development play important role in countries development.

Our government started those steps again in 2013 but political changes derailed them all again. He said development budget during our time was $ 1,000 billion which decreased this year to $ 727 billion.

He said Pakistan is structural imbalanced country. Pakistan should enter into countries of mid-level income but our structure is like poorest countries.

Pakistan is facing huge economic challenge. He said IMF conditions were made before flood, Pakistan failed to follow some of those conditions due to flood. Pakistan needed to increase income. Pakistan needed to increase job opportunity for women. Energy price decrease in country is needed. Clean and green energy is solution of this problem. Action needed to pull out poor people from poverty.

Reforms are needed in education department also. Taking steps for teachers’ training in country. Working is underway on new method of examinations. Working to enlist Pakistani universities into 100 biggest universities of Asia. We will encourage students towards business instead of jobs, said Minister.
