Inquiry initiated on alleged harassment of female doctor at Polyclinic

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of National Health Services and Regulations has taken notice of the alleged harassment of a female doctor at the Federal Government Polyclinic Islamabad and initiated investigation into the matter.

According to sources, this complaint of harassment was filed by Dr. Sidra Saleem Qureshi, a postgraduate trainee of the Department of Dentistry (Periodontology) of the Polyclinic Hospital, against the Head of Department Dr. Rehan Khalid. The Ministry has formed an inquiry committee to investigate the complaint.

The inquiry committee consists of Special Secretary Mirza Mashhood Ahmed and Director Legal, Ministry of Health Asif Sohail. The audio of the conversation between the complainant Dr. Sidra Saleem Qureshi and the accused Dr. Rehan Khalid has been sent to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency, Lahore for verification and to ensure the authenticity of the recording. The complainant had attached the USB of the audio recording with the complaint. Director Legal, Ministry of Health, Asif Sohail, has sought a preliminary inquiry report on this complaint from Dr. Saima Shah, the chairperson of the harassment committee at Polyclinic Hospital.
