Rawalpindi: Much-anticipated tenth edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League ( PSL X) is set to begin with a grand opening ceremony at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Friday, April 11.

This marks the first time the city will host the opening ceremony of Pakistan’s premier T20 tournament. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the opening ceremony will commence at 7:00pm, followed by the inaugural match between defending champions Islamabad United and two-time title holders Lahore Qalandars. The match is scheduled to begin at 8:30pm.

The tournament, featuring six teams, will be played across four major venues - Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, and Multan - with the final scheduled to be held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on May 18. The opening ceremony promises to be a cultural spectacle, with a diverse lineup of performances. Legendary Sufi singer Abida Parveen will take the stage, followed by a cultural showcase by Ali Zafar and a contemporary performance by the popular rap duo Young Stunners.

Adding to the fanfare, the artists behind the official HBL PSL X anthem - Abrar ul Haq, Natasha Baig, Talha Anjum and Ali Zafar - will also perform live. The event will conclude with a grand fireworks display. Tickets for the ceremony and matches are available online at pcb.tcs.com.pk.
