KARACHI: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has extended the deadline for Intermediate Part-I admissions until August 8 to provide relief to students affected by delays in the announcement of matric pre-engineering results in Karachi.
According to Director General Colleges Sindh, Dr. Naveed Rab Siddiqui, the delay in results had impacted the admission process. However, despite these challenges, nearly 50 percent of students have already successfully secured admission in colleges across the city.
To facilitate students and ensure that no eligible candidate misses out on the opportunity, the education department has set up facilitation centres and dedicated help desks in multiple colleges across Karachi. These centres are designed to guide students and parents through the admission process and address any concerns or issues that may arise during enrollment.
In addition to physical facilitation centres, BIEK has introduced a comprehensive online enrollment system to simplify the process for students. Through this system, new applicants can register using their email and password, update their profiles with accurate information, and submit their enrollment details digitally. The system requires students to upload essential documents, including a passport-size photograph with a blue background, matriculation mark sheet, and college admission receipts.
For students coming from boards outside Karachi, a migration certificate and permission from BIEK are mandatory. O-Level and international students are required to obtain an equivalency certificate from IBCC and upload it in place of the migration certificate.
Once the online application is completed, the system generates a PDF version of the enrollment form. Students must download, print, and submit this form as a hard copy to their respective colleges for final processing. The extended deadline aims to ensure maximum participation and provide every student a fair chance to secure admission for the upcoming academic session.
