KARACHI: The District Central police under the leadership of SSP Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqui remained fully committed throughout the year 2025 to improving the law and order situation and taking effective action against criminal elements. 

From 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025, the police demonstrated significant performance across multiple operational areas, the details of which are outlined below:

Performance in police encounters during the year 2025, a total of 257 police encounters took place in District Central. 

As a result of these encounters:

  1. 23 criminals were killed, 260 criminals were injured, 214 criminals were arrested and overall, 473 accused persons were arrested during various operations, including the arrest of a most-wanted suspect along with a K-Kove.
  2. Additionally, police recovered: 355 pistols, 846 rounds of ammunition action against street criminals.
  3. As part of the ongoing campaign against street crime, District Central Police registered 967 cases, arrested 929 accused persons.
  4. During these operations, a large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered, including: 897 pistols, 4 revolvers, 1 Mauser, 18 rifles,  2 repeaters,  1 K-Kove, 33 plastic pistols and 2,334 rounds of ammunition.

Action Against Narcotics:

In the crackdown against drug trafficking and abuse:

592 cases were registered, 772 accused persons were arrested.

Recovered narcotics and contraband included:

156.998 kg charas, 2.569 kg heroin, 5.544 kg ICE, 1.284 kg Kandhari charas, 620 bottles of liquor, 86 cartons, 901 grams crystal, 27.758 kg bhang.

Effective action was taken against the illegal trade of gutkha and mawa:

680 cases were registered, 932 accused persons were nominated, 809 accused persons were arrested.

Recovered items included:

  1. 6,227 packets of gutkha/mawa
  2. 215 kg gutkha/mawa
  3. 3,316 kg chalia
  4. 1,189 packets of tobacco
  5. 159 kg tobacco
  6. 16.5 kg chopped chalia
  7. 1,802 kg lime (chuna).

Moreover, 51 factories/units involved in illegal production were sealed.

Murder cases During the year 2025:

49 accused persons involved in murder cases were arrested. Three accused persons were killed during successful police operations. Several other suspects were apprehended and brought to justice.
