KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) announced to take to court against postponement of Local Body (LB) polls in metropolitan and Hyderabad by ECP yesterday. According to details, JI Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that ECP made a ‘shameful’ decision with Sindh government’s backing. JI would launch public resistance campaign and go to court against decision of postponement, he added.

He said that there is no polling station in city that cannot be operational, moreover no rain is predicted in city on August 27 and 28. Two and a half years have passed but PPP does not want to hold LG polls, he added. JI leader said that earlier governments plundered cleanliness funds worth billions of rupees. What has PPP government done for flood-affected people of interior Sindh? he questioned. Naeemur Rehman announced to stage sit-in against postponement on Shahrah-e-Quaideen.
