Karachi: Karachi has reported another suspected case of monkeypox, quoting National Institute of Child Health (NICH). As per sources, seven years old boy who is resident of Lyari was brought to National Institute of Child Health with monkeypox-like symptoms.

Child has been admitted to monkeypox isolation ward in hospital. Sources within NICH said that there is no travel history of suspected patient and said symptoms are like those of mpox but confirmation will come after polymerase chain reaction (PCR) report. Earlier, Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Fazl Pechuho ruled out detection of monkeypox cases in Karachi. Rebuttal followed after it emerged that three cases of monkeypox had been reported in city.
