Remaining Pakistan squad members to depart for New Zealand from Australia today

Sydney: The members of Pakistan’s T20I squad, who were partaking in the Test series against Australia will depart for New Zealand today. The players including captain Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, Aamir Jamal, and Mohammad Wasim Jnr will join Pakistan’s T20I squad in New Zealand. The first T20I of the five-match series will be played on 12 January in Auckland.

Notably, Pakistan’s new-look T20I squad partook in the first training session in Auckland on 4 January to boost their preparations for the upcoming five-match series against New Zealand.

According to the details, six members of the Pakistan squad Abbas Afridi, Azam Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Haseebullah Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed and Sahibzada Farhan reached New Zealand in the wee hours of 4 January. They were joined by four more members of the Pakistan squad Usama Mir, Haris Rauf and Zaman Khan, who were in Australia to participate in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) and Mohammad Nawaz, who was released from Pakistan’s Test squad for Australia tour.
