Shangla: Ten members of family were burnt to death in fire that destroyed their house in Kohistan area in wee hours. Fire erupted in house of Nawab Lohar at 2:00am, killing ten house members and burning goods and other valuables to ashes in Seri Patan area of Lower Kohistan. Deceased were five daughters, three sons, mother and wife of head of family in Seri Patan area of Lower Kohistan.

Two children miraculously escaped the disaster. Blaze was so intense that roofs of multi-storey house burnt quickly and later caved in. Whole house was destroyed and cattle also burnt to death.
