ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, called on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to approach the ongoing negotiations with an open heart.
He emphasized that the government is ready to consider PTI’s demands in accordance with the law. The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to holding serious and meaningful talks with PTI, stressing the importance of resolving issues peacefully. Iqbal further stated that the government does not seek chaos or anarchy on the streets and is dedicated to maintaining stability during this process. He also challenged PTI’s founder to present evidence regarding the state gifts if he wishes to be released from jail. Reflecting on his own experience, Iqbal mentioned that, during PTI’s rule, he had faced fabricated cases but was eventually cleared through a legal battle in court. In addition, Iqbal highlighted the “Uraan Pakistan” project, mentioning that it had been developed after extensive consultations with all stakeholders.
The project, he said, aims to contribute to the country’s economic development and ensure its future prosperity. Meanwhile, Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif urged PTI to prioritize the national interest and refrain from targeting the country’s security institutions in the future. He emphasized that the ongoing dialogue with PTI was initiated with the larger national interest in mind. Asif also praised the government’s efforts in stabilizing the economy, noting that Pakistan’s economy is steadily improving due to the continuous efforts of the current administration. He stressed that political stability is essential for achieving economic goals and meeting export targets effectively.
