Another corruption case registered against Elahi in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: A second case of corruption has been registered against former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi here. According to FIR, Elahi made advance payment worth Rs 20 billion of contract after accepting Rs 2 billion as bribe. A case has been registered against 9 accused including Pervaiz Elahi’s front man Sohail Asghar and contractor Tariq. According to FIR, Elahi allegedly received huge bribe while awarding contract for construction of 29 km patch of road.
Deal worth billions of rupees was made by Sohail Asghar. Gujranwala anti-corruption establishment arrested front man Sohail Asghar again and started investigation. Ch Pervaiz Elahi, Sohail Asghar, Tariq, XEN Highway Azmat Hayat, DEO Ashfaq Hamad, sub-engineer Salman Ahmed and others have been involved in case.
Anti-corruption and police officials raided residence of PTI President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in Lahore to arrest him late on Friday night.
But police failed to capture Elahi as he was not at his home at time of raid. Anti-corruption establishment said that its Gujranwala team had arrived at Elahi’s house to arrest him in corruption case.
