Arts Council celebrates Int’l Dance Day

Karachi: International Dance Day 2023 programme was organised by Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi in connection with International Dance Day in Auditorium I. Minister of Culture and Education Syed Sardar Ali Shah took special part in International Dance Day. President of Arts Council Ahmed Shah welcomed guests. Classical dancers Nighat Chaudhry, Mohsin Babar, Farrukh Darbar (Kathak), Wahab Shah and Co, Mani Chao (Bharatnatym), Abdul Ghani and Khurram (Fusion), Kaif Ghaznavi were present at International Dance Day. Iram Basheer and Abdul Sattar (semi-classical), Reham and Daniya (break dance), Samira (folk), Waqar Samrat, Ali Popper, Adnan Tal (Hip Hop), Lamiya Faheem (contemporary) and DJ Jhon Group, Sajan Group, Deewana Group, Adnan Jhangir (Lahore), Yusha and Mrs. Sikandar presented wonderful performance.

Sardar Ali Shah said that Ahmed Shah and I are spiritual dancers. Dance is our tradition. It is tradition of Bulleh Shah. There are large number of male dancers. Our nature is full of dance. For five thousand years, we have testimony of dance in statue of dancing girl of Moen Jo Daro. Ahmad Shah said that this universe dances, sun dances, we dance in wedding of children.

Mani Chao expressed that it has been 32 years since she came to this field. Talent in our country.

There is no lack of. I thank Ahmad Shah for being here. Tribute to the Samrat family on International Dance Day by Arts Council Karachi and Wahab Shab Dance Company.
