Arts Council Karachi organises display of thesis by final years students of ACP’s Art School

Karachi: Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi’s Arts Council Institute of Arts and Crafts organised final year thesis show. Event was inaugurated by renowned intellectual and humorist Anwar Maqsood along with Minister of Information, Minority Affairs, Social Protection, President Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Ahmed Shah. Secretary Arts Council Ejaz Farooqui, member of governing body Chand Gul, Farrukh Shahab, school principals and teachers were present.

Thesis display showcased creative works of students. Artwork praise from Anwar Maqsood, who expressed happiness at witnessing exceptional work after considerable period. He commended efforts of middle-class children, highlighting their dedication and hard work. Anwar Maqsood extended congratulations to teachers including Ahmed Shah and all students, stating that success of graduating students was testament to institution’s achievements.

Ahmed Shah shared struggles faced in acquiring and preserving the institution. He mentioned dire conditions of school when it was first acquired, emphasising lack of basic amenities. He credited teachers and expressed gratitude to Anwar Maqsood, referring to him as mentor and elder. He acknowledged media’s support for Arts Council and highlighted success of institution’s graduates who have entered professional arena. Ahmed Shah announced initiation of Master’s classes and stressed importance of providing free education to students who lacked financial means for expensive art education.

31 students of ACIAC participated in thesis show including 19 fine art, 8 graphic designing and 4 textile design students and communication design. Among students participating in final year thesis show Zarnab Baloch, Muhammad Jawad Hassan, Akash Jivraj, Zeenat Khan, Fatima Khan, Kabeer Atta Muhammad, Ashiq Ali, Habiba Mujeeb, Naheed Noor, Kiran Aslam, Yasir Noor, Darab Munir, Shahzad Baloch, Stifan, Wasama Nasir, Sahar Afsha, Bakhtiar Ahmed, Azka Latif, Lewis Saber, Syed Noor Hussain Rizvi, Basma Abid, Zainab Abdul Rasheed, Shiza Shawkat, Nazif Shaikh, Sachin Ramji, Khawaja Mubasher, Asad Ali, Saira Iqbal, Zeenat Soomro, Fiza. Fatima and Akash Kumar were involved.
