Cabinet lifts ban on recruitment in govt deptts

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah presiding over Cabinet meeting approved lifting of ban on recruitment in government departments. Ministers, advisors, chief secretary and concerned secretaries attended meeting.

Cabinet members told CM Murad that there are thousands of posts of lower grades lying vacant in government departments. “Lifting ban on recruitment not only improves working of departments but youth would get employees opportunities,” Cabinet members added.

CM with consent of Cabinet members approved lifting of ban on recruitment in government departments. He directed Law Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar and Advocate General to pursue case in court and get stay order-issued against recruitment-reversed.   

At request of Education Minister Syed Sardar Shah, Cabinet allowed School Education Department to continue recruitment process of PST/JEST as per Teachers Recruitment Policy 2021 through IBA Sukkur.

Cabinet granted an extension to doctors, nurses and other staff who were appointed during Covid-19 endemic until June 30, 2024.

At request of Health Department, Cabinet allowed Department to procure drugs and surgical items. Health Department was also allowed to tender Hepatitis Control Programme, T.B Control Programme and HIV/AIDS Control Programme on approved tender rates of 2022-23.
