KARACHI: A Chinese firm 'China Power' has shown interest in installing an industrial plant in Sindh for manufacturing of electric vehicles. Interest was shown by delegation of company in meeting with Sindh Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Memon held in Karachi here.

Welcoming interest shown by company, Sharjeel Memon assured provincial government's full support to facilitate investors and industrialists in province.

Last year, another Chinese company agreed to establish first intra-city bus manufacturing company of Pakistan in Karachi, paving way for availability of buses at cheaper rates in country.

Development was announced by Memon after he met country manager of Bus Company where it was decided that manufacturing plant will be established in next 20 months on an 18-acre land and plant will produce 500 buses annually.

"Establishing public transport manufacturing plant is our top priority and we wanted to begin project as early as possible," Memon said.
