Court accepts plea for recording Nawaz Sharif statement in Toshakhana case

ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court (AC) accepting plea for recording Nawaz Sharif statement in Tosha Khana vehicles reference has adjourned hearing of case till November 30. Judge Muhammad Bashir of AC took up Toshakhana case against Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari and others for hearing.

Pleaders of Asif Ali Zardari, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Majeed, Anwar Majeed and Yousuf Raza Gillani appeared in court. Court marked attendance.

Defence counsel Qazi Misbah took plea one defence statement is left. Court should direct NAB to record statement of Nawaz Sharif. Supplementary reference will have to be filed. Reference was finalised in absence of Nawaz Sharif. We want NAB should record Nawaz Sharif stance. NAB prosecutor said time be given for reading application.

Court remarked what is problem therein. Call Nawaz Sharif and record his statement. NAB prosecutor replied Investigation officer has to record statement. He will do it.

Defence counsel said, “Give us questionnaire and we give reply. Give us any close date. Prosecutor replied, “Record statement of investigation officer. We have no objection.”
