ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that matters regarding Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) privatisation are heading in right direction.

Aurangzeb, after assuming charge of his office, underlined need for steadfast work for recovery of country’s economy. “There is no switch which can be turned on for macroeconomic stability,” Muhammad Aurangzeb said and added that Pakistan’s IT exports are likely to touch $ 3.5 billion. Minister was of view that industries cannot prosper until solution of energy sector-related problems. He also stressed need to curtail expenses at government level.

Commenting on cash crops of Pakistan, Minister said Islamabad earned $ 2 billion from rice exports. Muhammad Aurangzeb said that lack of confidence in Federal Board of Revenue will be addressed by digitalising it. He said that interest rate will also come down in coming days.
