IG Sindh asks CTD to curb supply, sale of illegal arms

Karachi: IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon met CTD personnel at Central Police Office and appreciated their courageous efforts in anti-terrorism measures. Additional IGCDT Imran Yaqoob Minhas gave briefing on departmental affairs against crimes, such as police encounter between CTD and terrorists in recent days and police strategy and action plan to be made effective in this regard.

Briefing was also given on issues. In addition, he informed about details of treatment of injured personnel of CTD during competition.

IG Sindh said that steps taken by police against terrorists to protect life and property of people are not only worthy to praise but also praiseworthy. If you have saved life of one human being it is as if save entire humanity. He said that in order to make measures like anti-terrorism and other crimes successful and productive, network of Riki, surveillance, detection and intelligence should be made more integrated and effective at level of regions.

During police action against crimes, special attention should be paid to issues like security autonomy. IG gave task to senior officers of CTD to ensure prevention of sale and purchase of illegal arms by identifying and marking means of regular transportation and adopted in this regard.

Strategy and action plan should be coordinated and implemented at all levels. He said that prize distribution ceremony and certificates of appreciation will be organised soon for outstanding and efficient activities of CTD.
