LAHORE: In what appears to be another move to politicize the game of cricket, Indian authorities have not issued visas to the Pakistan Blind cricket team for the third edition of the T20 World Cup for the Blinds which is scheduled to take place from December 5 to 17 in India.

According to the details, the inaugural ceremony of the tournament will be held today in Delhi, however, India’s unwillingness to issue visas to the Pakistani contingent hampered their participation in the event. Indian High Commission, on the other hand, has not even returned the passports of Pakistani cricketers. Six teams were supposed to participate in the 12-day event which includes hosts India, Bangladesh, Australia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, South Africa and Pakistan.

The Green Shirts were scheduled to lock horns with arch-rival India on December 8 after kicking off its campaign against South Africa a day earlier.  Pakistan were then supposed to play Sri Lanka, Australia and Bangladesh on December 11, 13 and 14, respectively.
