Actress Maryam Nafees, who married in March 2022 and is expecting her first child, recently hit back at critics who suggested that she was planning to give birth abroad to secure a foreign nationality for her baby.
The actress responded strongly to these accusations, stating that there is no harm in choosing where one wants to give birth. Maryam, who has been sharing glimpses of her pregnancy journey with fans, also faced criticism for a baby bump photoshoot in London. This isn’t the first time that celebrities have been criticized for sharing maternity shoots, as social media users often raise eyebrows at such trends. Critics seemed to target Maryam’s decision, suggesting that her overseas photoshoot and birth plans were driven by a desire to give her child a foreign citizenship.
In response, Maryam explained that a child automatically inherits their father’s nationality, regardless of where they are born. She made it clear that there is no issue with giving birth in any location of one’s choice. The actress emphasized that people shouldn’t judge or impose assumptions about personal decisions, especially when it comes to motherhood.
