LAHORE: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan Convener Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui denied demand of Sindh governorship during party’s meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leadership.

Speaking to media representatives, he said that matters related to formation of government were not discussed in meeting.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that talks in meeting were largely related to public issues and recently concluded General Elections 2024. “There was no discussion on government formation. We did not demand Sindh governorship or anything else,” MQM-P convener reiterated.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui added that issues being faced by people of Pakistan were discussed in meeting. MQM-P convener said that all reports regarding demand for Sindh governorship are baseless. “We neither placed any demand before PML-N nor made any agreement.

Former PM Shehbaz Sharif has been given responsibility to minimise tensions between PPP and MQM-P. Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui vowed to fight for people rights in Parliament.

Addressing MQM-P celebration at Jinnah Ground he said that if constitutional rights of city are not given, they would opt to leave Parliament. Party MNA including myself who fails to fulfill his responsibility would be sent home,MQM-P convener added.

He said that all elected MNAs and MPAs would also visit ‘Shuhada Qabaristan to pay homage.  He said that now it is high time to snatch rights of people of Sindh urban areas.
