NEPRA jacks up electricity tariff

ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has jacked up electricity tariff by 0.79 paisa per unit. As per details, power regulatory authority approved 0.79 paisa per unit hike in electricity tariff in wake of monthly fuel adjustment. Consumers have to pay additional amount in May. In March, power was generated from expensive power plants. Furthermore, increase in electricity tariff will apply to all consumer categories except lifeline consumers and KE users. Earlier, National Electric Power Regulatory Authority approved Rs 1.55 per unit increase in electricity price for consumers of K-Electric. 

Power regulatory authority approved Rs 1.55 per unit hike in electricity tariff in wake of previous fiscal year’s second quarterly adjustment. Additional amount will be received from KE consumers from May to July 2023. NEPRA announced decision on petition filed by government seeking equal tariffs across country.
