LAHORE: Najam Sethi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee, has revealed that Pakistan's national cricket team will have the opportunity to play two home games in the upcoming Asia Cup.

As per the recent announcement made by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Pakistan will host four matches in their own country before the tournament moves to Sri Lanka. All participating countries, except for India, will come to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. However, India will be playing their matches in Sri Lanka, which means that Pakistan's only group stage match on home soil will be against Nepal, who is the other team in their group. The other three matches to be played in Pakistan are expected to involve teams from the second group, which consists of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan.

However, Sethi has made it clear that the host country, Pakistan, will have the privilege of playing two matches at home instead of just one. He revealed, "Pakistan will play a minimum of two games [at home]." Asia Cup 2023 will take place from August 31st to September 17th, 2023 and the tournament will feature two groups, with two teams from each group advancing to the Super Four stage. The top two teams from the Super Four stage will then compete in the final to determine the champion.
