ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan Peoples' Party is an important ally, which has always supported government's every step to strengthen national economy.

He was talking to delegation of PPP which called on him here under leadership of party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. During meeting, overall political situation of country came under discussion.

PM appreciated proposal of "Charter of Parliament" presented by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Parliament saying that it will further strengthen democracy. PPP delegation commended economic policies of government to strengthen country's economy.

PPP delegation also expressed full confidence in government's policies and initiatives, which was welcomed by Prime Minister. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, PPP leader Syed Naveed Qamar, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab and attorney general were present in meeting.

Meanwhile, Bilawal-Bhutto has warned coalition government led by PML-N of repercussions of victimising political opponents following in footsteps of previous Imran Khan-led regime. “If government’s only job is to decide, who should we put behind bars today [because] Khan did this to use and spoiled [political] climate. If we repay in same coin then you may be happy for one day but tomorrow you and I will be in same jail,” he said on floor of National Assembly.

He slammed former ruling party’s lawmakers for not respecting parliamentary affairs and using same confrontational tone in house as they used in public rallies.
