Peshawar: Maulana Fazlur Rehman Chief of Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl issued stark warning following announcement of coalition government between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Peoples’ Party, asserting that both parties would blackmail each other while being manipulated by “Hidden forces” behind scenes.

Speaking at meeting regarding his party’s protest against alleged rigging in recent general elections, Fazl lamented erosion of democratic principles. “After 2018 election, we hoped for fairness and transparency in 2024, but once again our aspirations and constitutional supremacy have been undermined,” he maintained.

Meanwhile, JUI-Fhas announced that it will commence movement against alleged rigging during February 8 general elections. JUI-F leader Aslam Ghauri, in statement, said that in initial phase of movement, meetings at different party levels will be held.

According to Ghauri, party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman addressed first of such assemblies today in Islamabad. “Rigging in these elections has put 2018’s rigging to shame,” he said and added that “Mockery has been made of public mandate”.
