PPP invites applications for Senate by-elections

Karachi: Pakistan Peoples’ Party has invited applications from party ticket aspirants for vacant seats in Senate of Pakistan. According to reports reaching here, Secretary General PPP Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari in statement said that few seats of Senate are now vacant.

“PPP invites applications from aspirants of party tickets for vacant seats of Senate. Applications should be submitted by March 3,” he added. He asked aspirants to address PPP president in application.

“Bank draft of Rs 100,000 in party’s name must be attached with applications supposed to be sent to Bilawal House Karachi or Zardari House Islamabad by March 3,” PPP General Secretary said.

Earlier in day, Election Commission of Pakistan announced schedule for upcoming Senate by-election on six vacant general seats. As per schedule, elections will be held on March 14 at different assemblies.

Nomination papers for vacant Senate seats can be submitted until March 3.
