Sharjeel vows to put transport sector on its feet

KARACHI: Senior Sindh Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit and Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Sharjeel Memon pledged to put transport sector of Sindh province including Karachi on its feet to facilitate general public.

Talking to media persons on visit to BRT Red Line site, he said that Sindh government had started work on Red Line BRT once again, He said that government would not leave any stone unturned to complete project.

He said that Red Line project was delayed due to utility services, which were being shifted and on part of provincial government there would not be even delay of single day in its completion.

He said that BRT Red Line project was an important project of PPP-led Sindh government. He said that resolution to problems of people was top priority of present government. He said that Sindh government was seriously working on all projects and intended to complete them on time.

Replying to question, he said that infrastructure of buses cost more than buses. He excused university students for facing problems due to project. He said that PPP led government performed practically instead of only paying lip service.

Replying to another question, he said that some issues were being faced in operation of Peoples’ Bus Service due to load shedding of electricity by K-E and power entity had been asked to resolve matter.

Replying to another question, he said that it did not mean that if PPP was not in federal government it would create obstacles. He said that PPP would stand shoulder to shoulder with government or opposition, whoever works in better interest and development of country.
