RAWALPINDI: A helicopter of Pakistan Army crashed during flying mission in Harnai, Balochistan on Sunday night. According to ISPR, six personnel on board including two pilots embraced martyrdom. Martyrs include Major Muhammad Muneeb Afzal, Major Khurram Shahzad, Subedar Abdul Wahid, Sepoy Muhammad Imran, Sepoy Shoaib and Naik Jalil.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep grief and sorrow over martyrdom of six personnel of Pakistan Army in a helicopter crash in Harnai.

In a tweet, he commiserated with bereaved families saying entire Pakistani nation share their grief. Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo also expressed deep grief and sorrow over crash of a helicopter of Pakistan Army in Harnai in which six personnel including two pilots were martyred. He said entire nation pays rich tribute to those who sacrificed their lives during performing duties. Chief Minister prayed for departed souls and expressed sympathy with bereaved families.

Former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan expressed sorrow over the tragic incident.

“My deepest condolences and prayers go to the families of these brave soldiers,” he said in a tweet.

Last month, a Pakistan Army aviation helicopter -- which was on flood relief operations in Balochistan’s Lasbela -- had gone missing and the wreckage of the copter had later been found in a coastal district of Balochistan. None of the six officers and crew on board had survived the crash. The funeral prayers of the martyred soldiers were held at Quetta Garrison, Balochistan, later in the day. They were attended by Corps Commander Balochistan Lieutenant General Asif Ghafoor among other senior military and civilian officials.
