26 illegal Afghan immigrants arrested: Police

KARACHI: City police arrested as many as 26 illegal Afghans immigrants in Al-Asif Square for illegally crossing border. According to details, Sohrab Goth Police Station carried out an operation near service road at Al-Asif Square and arrested 26 illegal immigrants. A police spokesperson said that raid was conducted was by a patrolling officer.

Afghan nationals failed to show their Pakistani citizenship and relevant travel documents, he added. Meanwhile, police claimed that arrested immigrants have confessed to enter Pakistan illegally. Cases against them were registered under foreigners’ act and further investigation is under way. Earlier in August, Karachi police arrested three Afghan nationals for illegally staying in city. New Town Police in an action took three Afghans into custody over incomplete documents.
