Chairman CAP Kaukab Iqbal lauds performance of cops

KARACHI: 7th Consumers Road Safety Conference organised by Consumer Association of Pakistan was held at a local hotel in which Additional IG Karachi Khadim Hussain Rind and IG National Highways and Motorway Police Salman Choudhary were the chief guests.

Addressing to the audience, Chairman of Consumer Association of Pakistan Kaukab Iqbal while welcoming all the esteemed guests said that Association has been organising conference for last six years to make consumers aware about traffic rules and regulations, road safety and consequences of reckless driving.

The conference aimed at make citizens aware about obeying traffic rules so that the ratio of the accidents and deaths could be minimized. Kaukab Iqbal also said the increase in the traffic accidents is due to the non-implementation of the SOPs by the commuters and also the culture of ‘one-way driving’ putting lives in jeopardy.

Moreover, the little usage of helmets also results in accidents and deaths, he said. Chairman CAP praised the traffic police officers for performing their duties in harshest weather and lauded the cops’ dedication to abide by their responsibilities in the right way amid scorching heat.

AIG Karachi Khadim Hussain Rind speaking at the event said this conference will make people aware about traffic rules and gathering of new ideas from the general public regarding the mechanism to bring about a considerable decline in the level of the accidents.

Khadim Hussain Rind welcomed the participants’ questions and vowed to take all possible measures reading more efficient system of traffic management in Karachi. AIG Rind added that Karachi Police unwaveringly supports and welcomes all rational solutions for implementing best strategies to curb the accidents ratio.

IG National Highways and Motorways Salman Choudhary in his address said that we are dedicatedly working to keep proper vigilance across all highways and also making the entire patrolling system much effective.

Malaysian Consul General Herman Hardynata, GM Sales and Marketing Hyundai Nishat Motors Malik Muhammad Adnan, Additional Collector Customs Asadullah Larik, COO Hyundai Nishat Motors (Pvt) Ltd Yamada Masaaki, DIGs, Traffic Police officers, constables, Motorway Police, representatives of various multinationals, national companies, businessmen, journalists and the entire team of CAP officials were in attendance.
