DMC Keamari reviews Muharram arrangements

KARACHI: Deputy Commissioner Keamari Ghulam Qadir Talpur chaired Muharram-ul-Haram arrangement review meeting with transition officer Javed Qamar, chairmen Maripur Town Humayun Muhammad Khan, Ali Akbar of Morro Mirbar Town, Abdul Karim Askani of Baldia Town, Municipal Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners of three towns, Rangers and senior police officials, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, Sindh Solid Waste Management Board, K Electric besides Imam of Keamari district.

Meeting aimed to finalise municipal and Muharram arrangements in which organizers of bargahs, processions and majalis heads participated. Organisers presented issues civic issues in meeting. In this regard orders were issued to relevant institutions for resolution.

WhatsApp group is being set up through which issues via one-window operation will be solved. Stakeholders will be linked stay in touch with each other. In special days of Eid-ul-Azha, arrangements were made in three towns. Provision of civic services on Muharram-e-Haram besides on possible rains came under discussion. Deputy Commissioner District Keamadi addressing Rangers and police officials said that they should make foolproof security arrangements during Muharram and guard imambargahs and processions.

Decisions on streamlining hygiene and civic issues came under talks. Representatives of K Electric were asked to avoid load shedding during ten days of Muharram.
